It is time for 4-H Annual Enrollment and Re-Enrollment for all new and existing youth members and adult volunteers! Enrollment and re-enrollment are free of charge.
During this time, NC 4-H requires all members and volunteers to update their enrollment records for the 2026 year. If your family is new to 4-H, and would like to participate, you will create a new account (enrollment). Existing members & volunteers should log in and update existing accounts (re-enrollment).
Please visit 4Honline.comto complete your enrollment or re-enrollment now.
Only youth members and 4-H volunteers with updated enrollment status in 4-HOnline will be considered active members and/or certified 4-H volunteers.
Please note: While 4-HOnline enrollment is ongoing through the year, updated member enrollment is required to participate in 4-H activities, events, programs, and clubs. Member status is required, not participant. Updated enrollment is also required for 4-H adult volunteer leadership.

4-H Achievement Night
4-H Achievement night is an awards ceremony in which all Stanly 4-H families are invited to recognize and celebrate the things 4-H'ers have learned and accomplished during their 4-H year.
Save the date! Our first Achievement Night in years will be held on the evening of Friday, February 27th at Uwharrie Bank Events Center at the Farm Bureau Livestock Arena. |

It's time for the 5th Annual Piedmont Rabbit Project!
Great news for Stanly County 4-H'ers - due to donations from Lock and Key Farm and fundraising efforts of the Stanly Rabbit Rangers 4-H Club, you can register and borrow a rabbit for the show completely free of charge . You must have an updated 4-H enrollment status (simply visit 4Honline.com and re-enroll or create your account) and you must be between the ages of 5 and 18 years old on January 1. All participants must attend a required Zoom meeting on Monday, February 23 at 6:30PM as well as the rabbit show on Saturday, May 2 at the Rowan County Fairgrounds in Salisbury.

Did you know there's a 4-H club all about rabbits?! The Stanly Rabbit Rangers is facilitated by two of Stanly County's premier rabbit breeding, showing and keeping experts. You don't have to be a club member to participate in the project, but we encourage you to consider attending an upcoming meeting where you'll find you're not the only one ears over heels for bunnies! Stanly Rabbit Rangers meet the last Thursday of each month at 5:30PM at Stanly Community College. You can also keep up with them on theirFacebook page .

On December 13th, 3 of our Rabbit Rangers 4Hers participated in an ARBA sanctioned rabbit show hosting youth contests. Harper took first place in multiple projects! Fantastic job, Harper!

The January meeting is at Stanly Community College on January 29th. We will be learning how to tattoo rabbits.

We are also gearing up for the yearly Piedmont Rabbit Project. Registration is open until Feb 12th. Please reach out to Mandy to sign up. A flyer will be circulated with more information.

Stanly County 4-H will cover the cost for 4-H Volunteers to attend, including conference registration AND hotel at double occupancy (aka if they are willing to share a hotel room with another attendee)!

2026 Youth Market Turkey Show T-shirt Design Contest
Eligibility: Youth ages 5–18. No affiliation (4-H, FFA, or show participation) is required.

4-H Summer Camp at Millstone 4-H Camp
It’s TIME to claim your spot for 4-H overnight camp. Our county will attend Millstone
4-H Camp June 21-26, 2026. $555 is the full cost to attend with us. Need-based scholarships are available, and Stanly 4-H’ers typically receive a substantial discount based on fundraising proceeds raised in the Fall Greenery Sale and Spring Plant Sales. Spots are limited. Please contact Mandy Smith-Thompson no later than Feb 2, 2026 and submit a $50 deposit to reserve your spot! |

South Central District Teen Retreat
The South Central District Officers are busy planning the 2026 Teen Retreat. The event will be Friday, March 27th - Saturday, March 28th and is open to all teen 4-H'ers in the South Central District. Teen Retreat is an overnight event where teens from the district stay at Millstone 4-H Camp to campaign, team-build and elect new District Officers to be installed at 4-H Congress. More details to come. |

Please remember to copy the 4-H Agent on any emails you send to Extension staff or your club families. This simple step helps ensure she stays in the loop regarding ongoing communication and activities involving 4-H allowing for better support and coordination. |

Spreading the word throughout the community is one of 4-H’s greatest challenges here in Stanly County. 4-H’ers, their families and Extension volunteers can help! Post flyers around the community about fundraisers, club meetings, etc - ask our office for hard copies! Share our posts on social media! Like our posts on social media! Always leave a comment when you see one of our posts. Share a link to our newsletter page so other families can keep up with all the opportunities available to their young people! TALK about your experience in 4-H and what you enjoy about it. Bring friends to your club meetings! |
