The Food Security Team launched their Photovoice exhibit last Friday, with support from UNCG Recipe, entitled “Framing the Future: A Photovoice Exploration of Food Justice“, showcasing photos and accompanying narratives gathered from participants in Guilford County! The Photovoice exhibit that launched April 4th, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

The exhibit will stay up until May 30th, 2025. You will be able to view the exhibit during The Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship’s operating hours Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

What to Know About Soil Testing
Testing Services for Nutrients and pH is provided by the NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Soils Lab for free to North Carolina residents except during peak season (December 1- March 31) when there is a $4 fee. Soil test boxes are available at the Ag Center. Please mail your soil test boxes to the testing lab in Raleigh using the address listed on the form. Learn More

It’s time to play everyone’s favorite game, Pick Out Polly! Can you find her in all the pocket gardens in the Demo Garden? Tune in each week on our Facebook or Instagram pages to see which pocket garden she goes to next!

Passalong Plant Sale

The Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Guilford County are holding their annual Passalong Plant Sale tomorrow and Saturday at the Agricultural Center!


Enjoy an array of perennials, natives, pollinator plants, shrubs, trees, and houseplants. Also available will be garden decor and slightly used items such as bird houses and garden signs.

Don’t know much about gardening? Ask our Extension Master Gardener volunteers for advice and tips while you’re there!

Join us in the Demonstration Garden at the NC Cooperative Extension-Guilford County Center for a day full of fun and learning for the whole family! Don’t forget to snap a photo with Polly Nater, our friendly pollinator mascot, and check out the car show happening on the property in partnership with Celebrate Pollinators Day.

Come and see the entries of Guilford County’s Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers showing off their gardening knowledge and work in practice. From 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., vote for your favorite entry. While awaiting the determination of the judges, from 10:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. enjoy a free gardening presentation, “Culinary Herbs” or take a tour of our on-site Demonstration Garden (weather dependent).

Med instead Meds - Recipe of the Month

This salsa is easy and quick and goes great on fish tacos, grilled fish, or with beans and rice.  The Med Way includes plenty of healthy and nutritious meals that are also delicious and satisfying. We teach Eating the Med Way through the Family & Consumer Sciences Program. 


Spicy Cauliflower

This delicious dish has a wonderful ginger flavor and gets spice from Sambal (or Sriracha).  Blanching then browning the cauliflower makes all the difference so be sure not to skip this step.

The Mixed Greens Community Garden is proudly marking its 25th anniversary! Over the years, it has become a thriving hub for growing fresh produce, forging connections with fellow gardeners, and nurturing a vibrant sense of community in Guilford County.


Find Mixed Greens at the Celebrate Pollinators Day Event on June 14th at the Ag Center to take a tour of the Mixed Greens Community Garden, enjoy some light refreshments, and learn more about our community!

Grower's Certificate  


Grower’s Certificates are for agricultural products that are grown/raised/produced in Guilford County, North Carolina Certificates expire on December 31st, 2025. Grower’s Certificates are maintained by N.C. Cooperative Extension, Guilford County Center to certify producers who are selling agricultural products grown in Guilford County. Local farmer’s markets or other sellers may ask for a Grower’s Certificate to show that your products are from Guilford County. They can also serve as a marketing piece for your local foods!

Starting this year, veterans need an online account to access their VA benefits—and we’re here to help you every step of the way!


Our Goodwill on the Go unit, with instructors from the NC Cooperative Extension, will be on hand to guide you through creating and navigating all three on your VA benefit accounts.

What to expect:
• Coaching on the digital skills needed to access veteran benefits
• Step-by-step assistance in setting up your online VA accounts
• Learn how to navigate the platforms to easily find and use services
