Standing Timber Prices Variable in First Quarter of 2026
The 1st quarter standing timber price report for 2026 is now available! Stumpage price trends were variable, with sawtimber classes seeing a slight decline in prices, pulpwood seeing a notable increase, and pine chip-n-saw seeing a slight increase since last quarter.

Paid USDA Forest Service Survey Testing Opportunity for Those Affected by Hurricanes
The USDA Forest Service is looking for woodland owners to help test questions for the National Woodland Owner Survey (NWOS) about the effect of hurricanes on timber harvesting. Testing will last no more than one hour. It will consist of a one-on-one interview, conducted by phone or video conference, where you will read survey questions and provide your input on the wording and content. Volunteers will receive $50 for their time.

June 16th, 2026 (Tu), 8:30 AM - 4 PM, Longleaf Pine Workshop for Private Landowners and Professionals. Join us for a full day of longleaf pine programming in Currie, NC, including expert presentations, catered lunch, and guided field tours. Topics will include the benefits of longleaf pine, establishment practices, prescribed

This workshop in Dobson, NC, will focus on preparing the grape-growing community to monitor and manage the spotted lanternfly (SLF). Attendees will learn how to build monitoring traps as well as how to identify this invasive pest and its main host plant, tree of heaven. Trap building kits will be available for attendees.
