Spiders of North Carolina
We are excited to share the release of our newest publication all about spiders in North Carolina (NC)! In NC, more than 1,000 species of spiders in over 50 families can be found in various natural habitats, from the woods to fields to the coast, as well as in our gardens, homes, and other built structures. This publication provides information on some of the more commonly encountered spider families, their role in the ecosystem, where they live, and, if necessary, what can be done to manage them. We also provide information on what spiders have meant to people throughout the ages and what spiders to look out for as they expand their range into the southeastern United States.
