Community Garden & Workday

If you don’t know already, Alexander County is home to the Taylorsville Community Garden! If you are interested in renting a bed, they are $25 per bed for the ENTIRE SEASON! Any additional bed is $10. That is a great deal! Stop by our office to claim a bed.



The Green Thumb Gazette newsletter is a great way to stay up to date with all your horticulture needs.  To see what horticulture programs are coming up or to see a monthly calendar of what to plant and fertilize check out the link for the March 2026 edition.  

The Statesville Area Beef Conference was outstanding!  Speakers Dr. Ben Rajo, Dr. Catherine Harris, and Dr. Charley Martinez delivered timely and informative presentations on Managing Cattle on Kentucky 31 Fescue, The New World Screwworm and a Cattle Market Outlook. As livestock producers it is important to stay informed and strive to improve management strategies. North Carolina Cooperative Extension is here to help you do just that!
Alexander County 4-H is preparing for their summer program series.  Meanwhile school enrichment programs, after school programs and clubs are going strong.
